Our Bowling Club Story
Luton West End Bowls Club is a community-based bowling team dedicated to promoting the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. We provide a welcoming and engaging environment for bowlers of all skill levels to come together and enjoy the sport they love.
We are not a large club but have been in existence since the 1930’s. At this point in time we have 30 playing members and 15 social members.
During the playing season we do have a reasonably full calendar. With friendly games, competition matches and league matches .
The men’s league plays Monday evenings and the women’s league would normally play on Tuesday evenings.
We have an open day every May in order to attract new members. Anyone wishing to join or just try out is made welcome. We have a selection of bowls to those new to the game to borrow and although we don’t have a resident coach we do have members who are knowledgeable and capable of teaching.
We are also affiliated to Bowls England.
Affiliation Number: 01028
County: Bedfordshire
Club Type: Mixed
To keep members together we run various evening and weekend entertainments during the winter season and an afternoon of dominoes and cards.
